A few weeks ago, I introduced a new regular feature: Lantern Light Letters: Prompts for Your WIP, and I’m back with an all new prompt. These prompts are a little different. They are designed to draw you further into the story you’re already telling. They’re tied to your WIP. To your protagonist. To the people who have been living in your head and on your pages.

The goal is to help you get a clearer handle on who your characters are, what they want, what they fear, and what they might be hiding — even from you.

Because the more you understand your characters, the more alive they feel on the page.
